/ 27 August 2025

CALOOCAN City Mayor Dale “Along” Malapitan reaffirmed his commitment to advancing education in the city, highlighting both infrastructure improvements and new digital initiatives for public schools.

“In my first term, the city government launched a series of projects to modernize classrooms and laboratories in our public schools. Even during my time as Congressman of the First District, we built 1,058 classrooms to help address the shortage,” Malapitan said.

To further modernize teaching methods, the mayor announced that the city government will distribute 10,000 tablets to students and 1,500 laptops to teachers before the year ends.

Caloocan currently ranks second in Metro Manila in terms of student population, with over 230,000 learners enrolled in public schools. Malapitan emphasized that schools with the greatest needs will be prioritized in the initial rollout of devices.

The mayor also revealed plans to establish smart classrooms in the coming months to ensure that every “Batang Kankaloo” can keep up with the demands of modern learning.

“Mga Batang Kankaloo, this is for you, from your fellow Batang Kankaloo,” Malapitan said, underscoring his administration’s thrust of Aksyon at Malasakit in public service.
