SA GITNA ng pagpapatuloy ng pagbabakuna kontra Covid19, umaasa si Senate Committee on Basic Education, Arts and Culture Chairman Sherwin Gatchalian na sa pagsisimula ng bagong school year sa Agosto ay maibabalik na ang face-to-face classes.

Nilinaw naman ng senador na ang inaasam niyang pagbabalik ng physical classes ay sisimulan sa mga lugar kung saan nananatiling mababa ang kaso ng Covid19.

“I’m hoping that by August, September we have face-to-face classes at least in low risk and zero COVID areas,” pahayag ni Gatchalian.

Kasabay nito, inamin ng mambabatas na nakasalalay rin ito sa bilis ng pagbabakuna sa mga guro, gayundin kung masisimulan na ang pagbibigay ng Covid19 vaccine sa mga kabataan.

“One thing that we learn from this, virus is quite unpredictable, and we go back to the issue of vaccination, the sooner we can vaccinate teachers…I’m appealing to our teachers to go out and get vaccinated,” diin pa ng senador.

Pinuri rin ni Gatchalian ang Department of Finance sa paglalaan ng P20 billion para sa pagbili ng bakuna para sa teenagers.

“We should already plan to vaccinate our teenagers and this is very good because going back to school is a very emotional activity for parents, and a lot of our parents are uneasy to send their kids back to school. But if we vaccinate our children, especially the teenagers, then they will have confidence they will have more confidence of sending their kids back to school,” dagdag ng senador.
