LAWMAKER SEEKS CREATION OF CLARK CHILDREN CENTER
1-PACMAN Partylist Rep. Michael Romero batted for the establishment of the Clark Children Center to boost research on pediatric diseases.
He filed House Bill 4769 or the proposed Clark Children Center Act.
The measure aims to further enhance the research in children’s diseases, training of medical and technical personnel, and specialized medical services for the prevention and treatment of children’s diseases.
The center, a non-profit, non-stock corporation organized primarily to help combat the high incidence of children’s diseases, will be administered by a Board of Trustees, composed of five members to be appointed by the President.
The measure mandates the approproation of P5 billion for the initial operations and maintenance of the Children Center.
All donations, contributions, endowments and equipment and supplies to be imported by the center shall be exempt from income and gift taxes.
The center shall also be exempt from the payment of taxes, charges or fees.
