HINIMOK ni Misamis Oriental 2nd District Rep. Juliette Uy ang Inter-Agency Task Froce na payagan na ang unti-unting pagbubukas ng mga paaralan sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng Modified General Community Quarantine.

Sinabi ni Uy na kailangan lamang tiyakin ng mga eskwelahan ang pagpapatupad ng minimum health protocols.

“Schools are both education and economic entities. I ask the IATF to allow the gradual reopening of the campuses of colleges, universities, and senior high school starting this coming summer term in MGCQ areas, provided strict minimum health protocols are followed,” pahayag ni Uy.

Kasabay nito, sinabi ni Uy na para sa mga magulang na hindi pa rin pabor sa face-to-face classes, na nanatiling opsiyon ang home schooling o online learning.

Binigyang-diin pa ng kongresista na maaari na rin namang payagan ang face-to-face college classes dahil karamihan sa college students at faculty ay pasok na sa age range ng Allowed Persons Outside of Residence.

“It also follows that teachers and other school personnel should be considered frontliners and therefore added to the list of priorities for vaccination,” diin pa ng mambabatas.

Iginiit ni Uy na dapat mabakunahan ang mga guro at iba pang school personnel ngayong Pebrero o sa Marso o sa sandaling dumating na ang first batch ng Covid19 vaccines.
