SENATOR Risa Hontiveros was elated by the effective implementation of the Anti-Oline Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children Law.

Hontiveros was pleased with the report that about 20 websites involved in child sexual abuse and explotation have been blocked.

The senator thanked the National Bureau of Investigation and the private sector like PLDT for their immediate action.

“Binigyan din ng NBI ng kopya ang opisina ko ng mga links na inaksiyunan nila. Bilang principal author ng batas, this is a very positive development in our fight against OSAEC,” she said.

“Ayon sa NBI Cybercrime, in compliance with the Anti-OSAEC Law, naaksyunan agad ng PLDT ang kanilang request na tanggalin ang mga mapang-abusong website. Dagdag pa nila, mas marami pang mga links at pictures ang maaaring ma-takedown,” she added.

“It gives me joy to see all of us working together to truly shut down OSAEC. Dahil sa ating pagtutulungan at pagkakaisa, tiyak na mas marami tayong mapagtatagumpayan para sa ating mga anak,” the senator said.
