LAWMAKER FILES BILL THAT ESTABLISHES EDUCATION PRINTING OFFICE
CAMARINES Sur 3rd District Rep. Gabriel Bordado Jr. filed a measure that seeks to establish an education printing office.
House Bill 6532 or the proposed Education Printing Office Act seeks to eradicate the usage of imprecise educational materials through the creation of a uniform system of producing materials relevant to the needs of the schools.
The measure mandates the establishment of a printing office under the Department of Education, which shall produce, print, and distribute original materials for public schools.
“Access to quality education paves the way for poverty alleviation, sustainable development, and economic growth. It is a fundamental right that must be the topmost priority of the State,” Bordado said in his explanatory note.
He added that the constitution mandates the State to establish an education system relevant to the needs of the people.
“Therefore, in order to provide the Filipino people with the best quality of education, accessibility should go hand-in-hand with the availability of correct, timely, and comprehensive learning materials,” the lawmaker said.
