LAWMAKER EYES TESDA TRAINING CENTER IN BALAYAN
BATANGAS 1st District Rep. Eric Buhain filed a measure that will establish a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Training and Assessment Center in Balayan, Batangas.
Under House Bill 3524, the center shall provide relevant and quality technical-vocational education and training and skills development program to students and residents from low-income families and out-of-school youth, including college dropouts and persons with disabilities.
Buhain said the proximity of Balayan to the fast-growing agro-industrial towns of Calaca, Lemery and Nasugbu makes it ideal for youths in these towns to access quality and industry-specific skills and competencies through TESDA.
The lawmaker believes that the establishment of the center will boost the development efforts of the first district of Batangas.
The center will help train residents to become productive, self-reliant and globally competitive. It will also serve as a TESDA-accredited assessment center for acquired competencies in technical-vocational skills in Balayan and other municipalities in Batangas.
