LAWMAKER EYES ESTABLISHMENT OF CAUAYAN CITY HS FOR THE ARTS
ISABELA 6th District Rep. Faustino Dy V filed a measure that seeks to establish the Cauayan City High School for the Arts.
Under House Bill 10645, the school shall implement a general secondary education as prescribed by the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 for students with considerable potential in the arts.
Dy said that his measure will allow the youth in Cauayan and neighboring towns to have a school where their skills in the arts can be developed.
He added that the specialized training the students will receive from professionals will be complemented with a strong academic curriculum that can enable them to enter any field of study or profession after graduation.
“Their exposure to the arts will hopefully give them a strong drive to pursue a career in the creative sector,” Dy said in his explanatory note.
He stressed that the Philippines has produced world-famous artists and the government must remain committed in providing an environment that nurtures the next generation of Filipino artists.
