DAVAO Occidental Rep. Claude Bautista filed a bill that will establish a national high school in Barangay Pangaleon, Malita, Davao Occidental.

House Bill 6878 seeks to create the Martino Masiwel National High School to make education accessible to children in the barangay Barangay Pangaleon and nearby areas.

Bautista said the nearest secondary school is three kilometers away.

He added that most residents in Barangay Pangaleon are members of the B’laan tribe whose source of living is farming.

Bautista said the establishment of the requested high school will directly benefit the 594 students in the barangay.
