LAWMAKER BATS FOR INCLUSIVE LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER, PUSHES FOR FULL IMPLEMENTATION OF RA 11650

/ 24 July 2025

PASIG City Rep. Roman Romulo reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive education with the planned establishment of an Inclusive Learning Resource Center (ILRC) in the city.

In a recent statement, Romulo said coordination is ongoing with the Department of Education Schools Division Office–Pasig, the Office of the Mayor through the Education Unit, the Office of the City Administrator, and developmental pediatricians.

The ILRC, expected to rise in the coming months, will be supported by a multidisciplinary team of experts to ensure learners with special needs receive the comprehensive support they require.

“Proper implementation of Republic Act No. 11650 is our priority to fully address the needs of learners with disabilities and ensure that no child is left behind,” Romulo said, referring to the Inclusive Education Act, which mandates the creation of ILRCs nationwide.

While infrastructure planning progresses, developmental pediatricians will begin working with DepEd SDO–Pasig to conduct student assessments, hold parent education sessions, and train teachers in inclusive education practices.

Romulo’s initiative underscores Pasig’s strong commitment to building an education system that embraces diversity and supports every learner’s right to quality education.
