K-12 PROGRAM SHOULD BE REVIEWED — LAWMAKER
SENATOR Juan Edgardo Angara on Monday sought the review of the K to 12 program.
“I think the K-12 should really be reviewed. Not necessarily with a view to abandoning it kasi sa tingin ko ‘di pa talaga siya naimplementa nang maigi,” Angara said.
He said the provision of offering Arts and Sports track for Grades 11 to 12 is not implemented in many schools in the country.
“Isa lang iyan sa maraming pag-uusapan dapat sa implementasyon ng K-12,” he said, adding that there are more provisions that should be amended.
“Funding is one of the issues that needs addressing at hopefully post pandemic, mabigyan talaga ng focus ito since nagbukas na ang bansa at pa-recover na ang ekonomiya. Puwede magbigay ng naaakmang pondo dito sa edukasyon,” the senator said.
Vice President-elect and incoming Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio earlier said the proposal to scrap the K to 12 program needs to be discussed.
