ISKO SUSPENDS F2F CLASSES IN MANILA ON SEPT. 26–27
MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno has suspended face-to-face classes in all levels, both in public and private schools, on Friday and Saturday, September 26–27, 2025, as the city prepares for the impact of Severe Tropical Storm Opong.
The directive followed a recommendation from the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, which warned that the approaching storm could bring heavy rains.
“This is in preparation for the expected impact of Severe Tropical Storm Opong, which forecasters said may bring heavy rainfall, flooding, and strong winds in Metro Manila and nearby provinces,” Moreno said.
All schools in the city have been instructed to shift to Alternative Delivery Mode to ensure learning continuity while prioritizing student safety.
According to the state weather bureau, “Opong” has intensified into a severe tropical storm.
