ISKO: MANILA ZOO TO BE USED AS VACCINATION SITE FOR KIDS
MANILA Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso plans to tap the Manila Zoo as a Covid19 vaccination site for children and senior citizens.
Domagoso said minors aged 12 to 17 may go to the zoo to get inoculated once it is converted into a vaccination site.
The mayor said that only 500 to 1,000 people will be allowed inside the zoo every day to comply with health and safety protocols.
“Ito po ay bahagi pa rin ng ating agresibong pagtugon, pagbibigay ng tunay na solusyon, at mabilisang pag-aksiyon na maproteksiyunan ang bawat isa sa inyo,” he said.
“Buhay ng tao muna, iligtas ang tao sa kapamahakan. Iyan ang ating polisiya,” he added.
Domagoso said that the zoo’s website will be launched soon. People who wants to get inoculated can visit the site to register for their jabs.
The government is considering vaccinating children aged 5 to 11 on the first week of February.
Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the country’s vaccine czar, said that the mini rollout for kids below 11 years old will happen from February 1 to 7.
The Philippines aims to finish the booster vaccination of minors aged 12 to 17 in the first quarter of the year.
