ILANG PRIVATE SCHOOLS HUMIRIT NG TUITION HIKE
HUMIRIT ng dagdag-matrikula para sa susunod na school year ang ilang pribadong eskuwelahan na nagkakaloob ng basic hanggang higher education, ayon sa Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations of the Philippines (COCOPEA).
Binigyang-diin ng COCOPEA na ang tuition hike ay matagal na dapat at ang 70% nito ay mapupunta sa sahod ng mga guro.
“To respond to the inflation and the difficulty, economic difficulties being experienced by our parents, we cannot help but also apply for tuition increase ranging from 3% to 9%, 12%,” wika ni COCOPEA chairman Fr. Albert Delvo.
“Some of these schools the last time that they applied for an increase was even pre-pandemic. So, I think it was just really about time for them to adjust their fees,” giit ni COCOPEA legal counsel Kristine Carmina Manaog.
Nangangalap na ng impormasyon ang Department of Education sa mga eskuwelahan na nag-apply para sa tuition hikes.
Sinabi naman ng Commission on Higher Education na hindi pa nito natatalakay ang tuition increase sa Commission en Banc
