HUNGARY URGES FILIPINOS TO STUDY NUCLEAR ENGINEERING
HUNGARY has encouraged Filipinos to study nuclear engineering and learn more about possible energy solutions for the Philippines in the future.
During the 7th Political Consultations between the Philippines and Hungary held in Budapest, officials urged interested Filipinos to avail of a scholarship once the application opens again.
“The Philippines thanked Hungary for continuing to provide educational opportunities for Filipino scholars to study in Hungarian universities via the Stipendium Hungaricum program, which annually allocates 35 slots for qualified Filipinos,” the Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
“Looking into possible energy solutions for the Philippines in the future, Hungary encouraged Filipinos to study nuclear engineering under the scholarship program,” it added.
Last month, Ambassador Frank Cimafranca and officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in Hungary welcomed new and returning Filipino scholars under the Stipendium Hungaricum, Erasmus, and FAO scholarship programs.
At least 31 scholars pursuing degrees in diverse academic fields that include agriculture, chemistry, biology, architecture, geology, environmental science, plant breeding, medicine, nursing, health care, public health, international relations, educational science, sports science, food safety and quality, animal husbandry, rural development engineering, crop production engineering, supply chain management, geopolitics, sociology, social work and cultural anthropology attended the welcoming event.
Application for the Hungarian scholarship was opened in November 2021 for Academic Year 2022-2023.
