HOUSE APPROVES ESTABLISHMENT OF TESDA CENTER IN GENERAL TRIAS, CAVITE
THE HOUSE of Representatives has approved a measure establishing the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Training and Assessment Center in the City of General Trias, Cavite.
The lawmakers unanimously approved House Bill 10134 as a substitute for all consolidated bills calling for the establishment of the TESDA Training and Assessment Center in the city.
The measure aims to benefit not only students but also out-of-school youth, unemployed and underemployed adults, workers in the informal sectors, persons with disabilities, and residents from low-income families to give them the necessary training and education for employment and self-enterprise.
On the employment side, solons stressed that the economic growth in the city of General Trias has resulted in the increase of economic zones in the area and the concomitant opportunities and demand for commercial goods and services.
With the help of the bill, residents of General Trias and even the neighboring municipalities will be able to acquire the fundamental skills and technical knowledge needed to flourish in their chosen field of profession.
This will make the residents of the city more self-reliant, productive, and globally competitive to contribute both to local and national growth.
Based on the measure, the General Trias TESDA Training and Assessment Center shall offer training programs on relevant skills trade competencies, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship activities needed to deliver the effective employment interventions that will hasten the development of the host area and the adjacent localities in human resource and productivity hubs.
