FORMER Senator and independent senatorial candidate Bam Aquino emphasized that quality education is essential for achieving genuine and lasting peace in the country.

Addressing the nation’s peace situation, Aquino highlighted the importance of continuous development and prosperity as foundations for sustainable peace.

“When we talk about peace, we inevitably have to talk about the economy, a living wage, people’s ability to feed their families, the cost of living, and jobs. All of these are components of a peaceful ecosystem,” Aquino said.

“And one of the most important aspects of peace, of course, is education,” he added.

Aquino stressed that resolving the education crisis is critical to securing the youth’s future and driving national progress. He urged that education be kept free from political interference, calling on all sectors to work together on this issue.

“This is one issue that cannot be politicized. Education should not be tinted with political color. Everyone must work together and focus on this issue,” he said.

He also highlighted the urgency of addressing the education crisis before it worsens in the coming years.
