VICE President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio said that the new schedule in the School Year was consulted with stakeholders.

Duterte-Carpio said that consultations were initiated in the National Capital Region and followed by other regions nationwide.

“Nag-consult tayo sa mga teachers, sa mga stakeholders, sa mga parents, and sa mga students. And wala siyang ibang rason, mainly because of tradition and preference ng karamihan,” she said.

According to DepEd order no. 3 series of 2024, the current school year will conclude on May 31. The school break is scheduled to commence on June 1 and last until July 26.

The Academic Year 2024–2025 will begin on July 29, 2024, and end on May 16, 2025.
