GOV’T FINALIZING ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES ON F2F CLASSES

THE GOVERNMENT is finalizing the additional guidelines on the conduct of face-to-face classes as several areas were placed under Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15.

Acting Palace Spokesman Karlo Nograles said that officials of the Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education and Technical Education Skills Development Authority are discussing the guidelines on the reopening of schools.

“So right now, tini-tweak, pina-finalize kung ano iyong additional guidelines na ilalagay natin for face-to-face classes for basic education, higher education, and technical education,” Nograles said in a press briefing.

“Although ‘yung previous guidelines natin allowed naman ang face-to-face classes in Alert Level 1 as permitted by the President,” he added.

On Monday, Education Secretary Leonor Briones said that more than 6,000 primary and secondary schools are eligible to hold limited in-person classes.

Meanwhile, CHED Chairman Prospero De Vera said that he will meet with the Inter-Agency Task Force Against Covid19 to discuss directives on F2F classes under Alert Level 1.

CHED has allowed universities and colleges in areas under Alert Level 3 and below to hold limited in-person classes.
