THE VACCINATION of minors aged 12 to 17 will be in full swing on November 5, vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said on Wednesday.

“Wala na tayong sequential. We will open to 12 to 17 all throughout the Philippines on November 5. We will have a full rollout on November 5,” Galvez said.

Health Undersecretary Rosario Maria Veregeire said that the guidelines for the nationwide rollout are being drafted.

The government will tap an additional 40 to 50 hospitals outside Metro Manila on Friday, October 29, to conduct a pilot run for the nationwide pediatric inoculation.

Galvez said that private companies can also start giving jabs to the adolescent dependents of their employees.

On Monday, Galvez said the government hopes to finish the vaccination of minors aged 12 to 17 by December this year.

The Philippines started vaccinating minors last October 15 in the National Capital Region.

Adolescents with underlying medical conditions such as medical complexity, genetic condition, neurologic conditions, metabolic or endocrine diseases, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, HIV Infection, tuberculosis, chronic respiratory disease, renal disorders, hepatobiliary disease, and immunocompromised due to disease or treatment were given priority.
