FREE MA PROGRAM FOR GOV’T EMPLOYEES AT SUCs PUSHED
TINGOG SINIRANGAN Partylist Rep. Jude Acidre filed a measure granting free tuition for government employees enrolled in the Graduate Education Master’s Program at State Universities and Colleges.
TINGOG SINIRANGAN Partylist Rep. Jude Acidre filed a measure granting free tuition for government employees enrolled in the Graduate Education Master’s Program at State Universities and Colleges.
The solon filed House Bill 9986 or the proposed Government Employees Free MA Tuition in SUCs Act.
Acidre said in the bill’s explanatory note that it is the primordial policy of the State to protect and promote the rights of all citizens to quality education at all levels and shall take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all.
The lawmaker stressed that legislation is manifesting the State’s Constitutional mandate to deliver quality education at all levels.
Thus, the bill aims to provide free tuition to Master’s students who are government employees, and who will be enrolling in SUCs.
“This limitation of the segment of the population to be covered by this proposal is in consideration of the needed financial resources to successfully implement the program,” Acidre said.
The bill is also in consonance with Republic Act 11032, otherwise known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act, which called for the promotion of integrity, accountability, and proper management of public affairs and public property as well as to establish effective practices, aimed at efficient turnaround of delivery of government services and the prevention of graft and corruption in government.
The measure also provides the necessary yet very important complementary support program of human resources development through the grant of higher education specializations, through a Master’s degree, to bureaucrats and technocrats.
