FREE COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAM APRUB NA SA HOUSE PANELS
INAPRUBAHAN na ng House Committees on Basic Education and Culture at Higher and Technical Education ang panukala para sa pagbibigay ng libreng entrance examination sa lahat ng state, local at private universities and colleges.
Sa virtual hearing na pinamunuan nina Congressmen Roman Romulo at Mark Go, pinagtibay ng dalawang panel ang House Bill 647 o ang proposed Free College Entrance Examination Act ni Parañaque City Rep. Joy Myra Tambunting.
Sa panukala, saklaw ng libreng entrance examination sa State Universities and Colleges at maging sa Local Universities and Colleges ang underpriviledged public high school students.
Sa private higher education institutions ay gagawin namang libre ang entrance test sa public high school students na kasama sa top 10 percent ng graduating class.
“The exemption from the imposition of entrance examination fees is one such mechanism that will ensure that underprivileged but bright and deserving high school graduates are given adequate assistance and equal opportunity to pusue their dreams of obtaiining a college education,” pahayag ni Tambunting.
Sa sandaling maisabatas ang panukala, papatawan ng anim na buwan hanggang anim na taong pagkabilanggo at multang P750,000 ang mga lalabag na HEI officials o employees at iba pang concerned individual.
Binibigyan din ng kapangyarihan sa panukala ang Commission on Higher Education na magpataw ng disciplinary sanction sa sinumang HEI official o employee na lalabag sa mga probisyon nito.
