FAPSA NOT IN FAVOR OF FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

THE FEDERATION of Associations of Private School Administrators is against the proposed gradual resumption of face-to-face classes, saying that it should not be considered this school year.
“Initially, I thought Covid19 is not going to last long but since it has not abated and it is getting worse, face-to-face [classes] should not be considered this entire school year. Or even in the next school year, if it persists,” FAPSA President Eleazardo Kasilag said.
“Even in places that seem to prevent it or in places hardly visited by the virus. Do not dare,” Kasilag added.
He said that people should not be complacent even for just a second.
“It is like in boxing; you may be the greatest parry man and escape artist but the virus only needs one hit and, boom, you are knocked out,” he said.
“I guess our educators, parents and students just have to be reminded that we study for life and not live to study,” he added.
Palace spokesman Harry Roque on Monday said that President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the Department of Education’s proposal to conduct face-to-face classes in areas with low Covid19 risk in January 2021.
