ISINUSULONG ng ilang kongresista ang resolusyon na hihikayat sa Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases na payagan ang face-to-face classes sa far-flung areas sa Northern Luzon na naideklarang Covid19-free.

Ang House Resolution 1097 ay inihain ng mga kongresistang miyembro ng tinatawag naNorth Luzon Growth Quadrangle.

Kabilang sa mga miyembro ng quadrangle sina Pangasinan 5th District Rep. Ramon Guico III, Cagayan 3rd District Rep. Joseph Lara, Ilocos Sur 2nd District Rep. Kristine Singson-Meehan, Ilocos Norte 2nd District Rep. Angelo Marcos Barba, Apayao Rep. Elias Bulut Jr., Batanes Rep. Ciriaco Gato Jr., Abra Rep. Joseph Bernos, Isabela 3rd District Rep. Ian Paul Dy, Pangasinan 6th District Rep. Tyrone Agabas, Isabela 6th District Rep. Faustino Dy, Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Ria Christina Farinas, Nueva Vizcaya Rep. Luisa Lloren Cuaresma, Ifugao Rep. Solomon Chungalao, Pangasinan 4th District Rep. Christopher de Venecia at Mountain Province 1st District Rep. Maximo Dalog Jr.

Sa kanilang resolusyon, iginiit ng mga kongresista na may mga lugar pa rin sa bansa ang nananatiling Covid19-free o mababa ang kaso ng coronavirus at mababa rin ang bilang ng kanilang mga estudyante.

Nakasaad sa resolusyon na napagkasunduan ng mga miyembro ng quadrangle sa kanilang special meeting na maaaring isagawa ang face-to-face classes sa mga lugar na wala namang panganib ng virus.

“The current Covid19 pandemic is causing a huge hurdle on the part of the Department of Education in carrying out its mandate of effecting the education of our youth as schools and community learning centers are closed for physical conduct of classes,” pahayag ng mga kongresista sa kanilang resolusyon.

Sa impormasyon nakalap ng The POST, nananatili umanong Covid19-free ang Batanes at Dinagat Island.

Una nang inaprubahan ng House Committee on Basic Education and Culture ang resolusyon upang hilingin sa IATF na payagan ang face-to-face classes sa Batanes.
