“Alinsunod sa kautusan ng Punong Lungsod, magkakaroon lamang ng suspensyon sa face-to-face classes sa pampubliko at pribadong eskwelahan kapag pumalo sa 42 degrees Celsius o higit pa ang Heat Index o init ng panahon na nararanasan sa Lungsod Pasay,” the PIO said in a statement.

Earlier, the local government of Pasay City suspended the in-person classes as the heat index in the city reached 43 degrees Celsius.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano issued Executive Order No. 42 on Tuesday, April 2, encouraging all public and private schools to shift their learning activities online, modular, or any applicable alternative learning modality in anticipation of the dire effects of the scorching heat due to the El Niño phenomenon.
