SENATOR Imee Marcos is pushing for a measure establishing a Philippine Science High School campus in Iguig, Cagayan.

In Senate Bill 1591, Marcos stressed Cagayan Valley Region currently has one Philippine Science High School campus at Bayombong, Nueva Viscaya.

The senator said during the recent years, the PSHS Cagayan Valley has seen an increasing number of enrollees.

However, the school’s limited facilities and human resources makes it difficult to cater to all deserving enrollees without compromising the quality of education.

The measure mandates the creation of another PSHS campus to maintain, and support a complete, adequate, and integrated system of education relevant to the needs of the people and society.

“This would ensure the youth of Cagayan and neighboring provinces are provided with accessible and quality education,” Marcos said in her explanatory note.
