ISINUSULONG ni Sorsogon Rep. Evelina Escudero ang panukala para i-convert ang isang elementary school sa Sorsogon City bilang isang integrated school.

Sa kanyang House Bill 9031, nais ni Escudero na i-convert bilang isang integrated school ang San Lorezon Elementary School na matatagpuan sa Barangay Bibincahan, sa nabanggit na lungsod.

Iginiit ni Escudero na sa pamamagitan ng conversion ng paaralan ay matitiyak na magkakaroon ng oportunidad sa full basic education sa elementarya at sekondarya ang mga bata sa Barangay Bibincahan at mga kalapit na lugar.

“Undeniably, Filipinos always have a deep regard for education, It has always been considered by the many as the primary avenue for social and economic mobility, and for the state, an essential component for national development,” pahayag ni Escudero sa kanyang explanatory note.

Sa pinakahuling census noong 2015, nasa 15,738 ang residente sa Barangay Bibincahan na ang 30.9 percent ay mga batang may edad 14 pababa.

Sa pagtaya, ngayong 2021, aabot na ang populasyon sa barangay sa 18,693 habang sa buong lungsod ay 199,675.

“The growing population of the community, the limited resources of the locality, and the duty of the State to establish, maintain, and support an accessible, complete, adequate, and integrated system of education necessitate the conversion of San Lorenzo Elementary School into an integrated school,” pagbibigay-diin pa ng mambaabatas.
