EDCOM 2 FINDS NEW PARTNERS IN BID FOR EDUCATION REFORM

WITH the goal of introducing reforms in the country's education system, the Second Congressional Commission on Education or EDCOM 2 partnered with the Metrobank Foundation, The Asia Foundation, and the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde for a three-year mission.

WITH the goal of introducing reforms in the country’s education system, the Second Congressional Commission on Education or EDCOM 2 partnered with the Metrobank Foundation, The Asia Foundation, and the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde for a three-year mission.

EDCOM 2 together with officials of the three groups, signed a memorandum of agreement on March 15 held at the University of the Philippines BGC.

“Organizations like The Asia Foundation, Metrobank Foundation, and DLSU-CSB have proven to be invaluable partners in our three-year mission to uplift the quality of our education system, ” EDCOM 2 Executive Director Dr. Karol Mark Yee said.

Yee stressed the pursuit of education reforms is a shared responsibility, and is grateful for the support of their new partners who share their expertise and resources to help the mission for education succeed.

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, EDCOM 2 co-chairperson, meanwhile said that with the partnerships, he is looking forward to the formulation of landmark education reforms.

Present as witnesses were Gatchalian, Representative Roman Romulo, Representative Mark Go, as well as Commissioners Representative Kiko Benitez, and Senator Juan Edgardo Angara.
