DTI URGED TO ENSURE NO VAPE SALE NEAR SCHOOLS
A HEALTH advocacy group urged the Department of Trade and Industry to ensure that vapes will not be sold within 100 meters from school premises.
A HEALTH advocacy group urged the Department of Trade and Industry to ensure that vapes will not be sold within 100 meters from school premises.
HealthJustice Philippines, a non-government organization, sought the help of the police and local government units in monitoring not only the sale of cigarettes but also vapes in sari-sari and convenience stores near learning institutions.
“No one should be smoking or vaping inside or outside the premises of the schools,” HealthJustice said.
The group also called on the Department of Education to strictly implement the no-smoking and no-vaping policy in schools.
Meanwhile, the group lauded the DTI for actively conducting crackdowns against some vape stores not complying with the Vape Law.
HealthJustice also supports DTI in banning vape flavors except plain tobacco and plain menthol as this will limit the attraction of children and the youth to these toxic products.
