DOLE ENHANCES JOBSTART INITIATIVE WITH TRAINING SESSIONS FOR PROGRAM IMPLEMENTERS

/ 3 April 2025

THE DEPARTMENT of Labor and Employment has conducted training sessions aimed at strengthening the implementation of the JobStart program, equipping officers and implementers with essential skills to improve workforce readiness among Filipino youth.

Held from March 12 to 14 in Cebu City and March 19 to 21 in Pampanga, the sessions brought together Public Employment Service Office officers and program implementers to enhance their capacity in delivering the revised Soft/Core Skills Training (SCST) module.

The SCST module focuses on developing key workplace competencies such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability, helping young job seekers improve their employability.

The training was led by Dr. James Philip Ray V. Pinggolio, PhD, LPT, RGC, who provided valuable insights on the effective delivery of the SCST modules.

In addition to SCST training, participants attended a JobStart Advisory Orientation, which updated them on program developments, best practices, and the transition toward implementer-led training.

Discussions also covered strategies for institutionalizing the JobStart program into law, addressing implementation challenges, and ensuring its long-term sustainability.

DOLE emphasized that these efforts reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening support systems that improve employment opportunities for Filipino youth through targeted skills development and job facilitation programs.
