THE DEPARTMENT of Health on Monday said it received reports that four minors experienced adverse effects after getting their anti- Covid19 jab.
THE DEPARTMENT of Health on Monday said it received reports that four minors experienced adverse effects after getting their anti- Covid19 jab.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the patients experienced high blood pressure, allergic reaction and stress-related cases.
“Ang isang bata nagkaroon ng pagtaas ng presyon but after two hours they were able to manage it at naging normal na ang blood pressure ng bata. Pangalawa, merong isa na nagkaroon ng allergic reaction but it was managed at na-resolve din ang allergies,” Vergeire said in a press briefing.
“May dalawang stress-related doon sa immunization. May mga anxiety tayo sa pagbabakuna, so ‘yung dalawang reaction na nakita nila was determined to be stress-related because of the vaccination,” she added.
The DOH official said 1,509 minors aged 12 to 17 with health risks have been vaccinated as of October 16.
The government began inoculating minors last week in eight hospitals in Metro Manila — National Children’s Hospital, Philippine Heart Center, Pasig City Children’s Hospital, Fe Del Mundo Medical Center, Philippine General Hospital, Makati Medical Center, St. Luke’s Medical Center, and Philippine Children’s Medical Center.
The pediatric vaccination will be expanded to include areas outside Metro Manila on October 22.
