THE DEPARTMENT of Health launched another two-day vaccination drive called ‘Bakunahang Bayan II’ which aims to inoculate Covid19 booster shots to children ages 5 to 11 years old.

“Ang target po natin dito ay more of the 5-11 years old and the first booster. Para ma-reach natin ‘yung target natin for 5-11 and the booster doses,” Health Usec. Nestor Santiago said.

In a recent DOH data, 73.6 million Filipinos have completed the primary series of Covid19 vaccine.

However, as 20.8 million Filipinos received their first booster shot, progress on the first booster dose is still lacking.

DOH Officer-In-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire earlier disclosed the intentions for a final special vaccination push for the year, stating the department is still optimistic more individuals will choose to get vaccinated or receive booster as the country has seen a minor increase in cases over the past week.
