More schools in Palawan can now enjoy faster internet after the Department of Information and Communications Technology installed free wifi in various sites in the province.

These schools are the Puerto Princesa School of Arts and Trades, Palawan State University, Irawan National High School, and Matahimik Bucana National High School. The DICT also installed free wifi at the city library.

The department said that it set up free wifi in 11 locations in Puerto Princesa City in line with its Free Wifi program.

The program aims to provide internet connection for all.

“We are able to make efficient use of our resources from the Puerto Princesa Point of Presence, thus activating additional sites on a lower cost thru [the] utilization of the bandwidth allocated in the PoP,” DICT Regional Director Cheryl Ortega said.

“I am pleased to share that we are able to support the connectivity needs in various public places around Puerto Princesa City,” she added.
