THE DEPARTMENT of Education has warned the public against a fake AI-generated video circulating on social media that falsely claims classes are suspended on Monday, July 28.

In an official statement on Sunday, DepEd stressed that no such announcement has been made.

“Fake news ang ipinakakalat na AI video ng isang FB page tungkol sa umano’y suspensyon ng klase bukas, Hulyo 28,” the agency said.

“Muling pinaaalalahanan ng DepEd ang publiko na mag-ingat at maging mapanuri laban sa anumang uri ng misinformation.”

DepEd also reminded the public that official announcements concerning basic education—including class suspensions—will only be released through its verified social media accounts and official communication channels.

“Para sa opisyal na mga anunsiyo at impormasyon tungkol sa basic education, bisitahin lamang ang official DepEd Philippines social media accounts,” it added.
