DEPED, TV NETWORKS LINK UP FOR AIRING OF LECTURES
THE DEPARTMENT of Education has partnered with various television networks for the airing of educational programs and video lectures for students.
DepEd Director IV of Information and Communications Technology Services Abraham Abanil said they have established partnerships with IBC 13, Solar TV and other dedicated channels.
The department is also working with GMA, ANC, and Cignal TV in order to reach a wider audience of learners.
Abanil has also suggested that video and audio lectures be aired in barangays for easier access of students to learning materials.
DepEd added that eight channels will cater to grade school, junior high school and senior high school students and will deliver 1,000 episodes per quarter to cover the most essential learning competencies (MELCs) under the revised curriculum.
Abanil also encouraged Filipinos to be open minded in looking for new ways to deliver education to the students amid the pandemic.
MELCs include knowledge, understanding, skills, and attitudes that students need to acquire under the new normal method of learning.
