NILAGDAAN na ng GMA Network, Inc. at ng Department of Education ang Memorandum of Agreement upang masimulan na ang pag-ere ng mga audio-visual learning material ng DepEd TV sa GMA Free Digital Channel sa buong Filipinas noong Disyembre 4.

Libreng ipagagamit ng GMA ang nationwide airtime para sa DepEd TV simula alas-7  ng umaga hanggang alas-7 ng gabi, Lunes hanggang Sabado sa Digital Terrestrial TV at Channel 7 sa GMA Affordabox.

“GMA Network recognizes the challenges our country faces in the middle of this pandemic and will do its part to support the country’s efforts to curb the spread of Covid19, while continuing to enrich the lives of Filipinos in ways that we can,” wika ni GMA Network chairman and Chief Executive Officer Felipe Gozon.

Dagdag pa niya, “it is therefore our honor and privilege to join forces with the Department of Education and provide our TV platform for free to enable our young learners access to broadcast education while keeping them safe at home.”

Sinusugan ito ni GMA President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto Duavit, Jr. sa pagsasabing ang paksiyon ng network at ng DepEd ay bahagi ng kanilang hindi napapagod na pagseserbisyo sa mamamayang Filipino.

“This is part of our continuous effort to deliver Serbisyong Totoo to our countrymen, especially in these difficult and trying times. We are deeply grateful for this opportunity to serve our youth by providing this added means by which to learn and grow,” sabi ni Duavit.

Malaki naman ang pasasalamat ni Education Secretary Leonor Briones sa inisyatibang ito ng GMA sapagkat hindi maikakaila na mas maraming mag-aaral ang maaabot ng DepEd TV kung mabibigyan ito ng espasyo sa free channel.

“All these months that we have been struggling with a pandemic, we have sought ways with alternative learning modes. This has been leading us to the greater use of technology. And we are very grateful to GMA for offering their assistance, their services, and advice as we move on to much more effective ways of delivering blended learning, as well as the other modalities,” sabi ni Briones.
