DEPED TO UNVEIL K-12 CURRICULUM
THE DEPARTMENT of Education vowed to unveil the updated version of the K to 12 curriculum for basic education before the term of Secretary Leonor Briones ends next year.
“We have to admit that there is much room for improvement but I feel somehow that the bureau and the offices working with us at the curriculum and instruction strand were able to deliver what has been committed. We commit to unveiling the 2022 version of the K to 12 curriculum before our term ends,” Education Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio said.
San Antonio said that the department is completing several research projects, which will be given to the management and executive committee early next year as a benchmark in policy recommendations and curriculum revisions.
DepEd reported it has conducted studies on the Multiple Distance Learning Delivery Modalities.
In addition, a study on the factors of academic failures among learners as a basis for policy recommendation is in the pipeline.
“Nagpapasimula na po ng study na na-assign sa amin ni Ma’am [Briones], tingnan ang mga factors na nagiging sanhi ng failures ng ating mga bata,” San Antonio said.
The curriculum review was one of the priorities of DepEd under the Sulong Edukalidad program.
