THE DEPARTMENT of Education will hold a learners’ convergence in a bid to realign and refocus learner-related initiatives to meet the needs of the students.

Dubbed as Learners’ Convergence PH 2023, the event will be held in Marikina City from July 29 to August 3, 2023.

The conference, which will be held in conjunction with the 2023 Palarong Pambansa, will be attended by select high school learners, youth leaders and trainers, and education stakeholders from 228 schools division offices from 17 regions.

The education agency said that it will serve as venue for conversation, insights sharing and collaboration of ideas in student engagement in public and civic affairs.

During the event, students will have the opportunity to learn about their role in nation-building through thematic learning sessions. It also aims to build a network of individuals who are interested in leadership, governance, civic engagement, health and wellness, gender and social integration, climate action, among others.

The different offices of the DepEd will also conduct sessions to discuss the capacity building program for students, disaster preparedness, advocacy campaigns for health, the development of an action plan for the promotion of sports clubs in public schools, and the Learners’ Right Congress.
