THE Department of Education will monitor the implementation of ‘No Permit, No Exam Prohibition Act’ after being recently signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

DepEd Assistant Secretary Francis Bringas said the Central Office has a Private Education Office which monitors private schools.

With the passage of the new law, it will also monitor if the ‘No Permit, No Exam Prohibition Act’ will be followed.

“Since batas na ‘yan, ipapatupad natin ‘yan at magiging part ‘yan ng ating monitoring ng mga private schools… Definitely idadagdag natin ‘yan sa magiging matter na i-momonitor regularly,” Bringas said.

“The law will be used as a basis for a violation of certain private schools at kung kapag may mga violation ang mga private schools na nakasaad sa batas kahit sa mga DepEd guidelines natin, meron pa ring kaakibat na sanctions ‘yan,” the DepEd official added.

Meanwhile, Bringas noted complaints on private schools prohibiting students to take exams due to lack of permit was not that rampant.

“That is one of the more prevalent or more persistent na mga issues natin na nire-report ng mga parents or mga concerned citizens against sa private school pero hindi naman siya ganoon ka-rampant,” Bringas said.

Marcos earlier signed Republic Act 11984 which mandates to accommodate and allow disadvantaged students unable to pay tuition and other fees to take the periodic and final examinations without requiring a permit.
