DEPED: TEACHERS SHOULD NOT DO UNNECESSARY TASKS

THE DEPARTMENT of Education warned officials and personnel of administrative repercussions for ordering teachers to do “unnecessary tasks” that distract them from teaching.
In a memorandum, DepEd reminded all officials of regional and division offices as well as superintendents and public school supervisors to avoid requiring teachers to do certain tasks that are not covered by their duties.
The goal is to allow teachers to focus on the lessons and teaching the students.
This was after the DepEd received a report last November that some teachers were instructed to prepare or fill out templates for the evaluation of programs, projects, and activities where they should have been carried out by the personnel of the regional or school division offices.
Any DepEd personnel who will violate any provision of the order will be subject to administrative cases and some corresponding violation charges.
