THE DEPARTMENT of Education and the Private Education Assistance Committee have strengthened their partnership during the Workshop on Operationalizing the Public-Private Complementarity Framework.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara emphasized the importance of participatory governance and collaborative policymaking in nurturing the complementary relationship between public and private institutions.

“Today, we will develop a plan of action to change that. We are no longer just regulators and stakeholders—we are co-authors of the education system we want to build,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude to City Savings Bank for its continued support of the call for a loan moratorium and, more recently, for donating devices to selected school division offices to improve learning outcomes.

“We really felt your presence and assistance. You were among the first to respond to our calls for a moratorium, even reaching out to ask where to help. We truly appreciate that kind of engagement.”

DepEd and City Savings also solidified their partnership during the MOA signing ceremony held on Monday.
