THE DEPARTMENT of Education is investigating the alleged sexual harassment of students by six teachers in Bacoor National High School.
“The allegations of sexual harassment in Bacoor National High School is very disturbing news and we are taking this very seriously,” DepEd spokesperson Michael Poa said in a viber message.
The statement was issued after the social media post on the students who were allegedly sexually abused by their teachers went viral.
Poa said the Schools Division Office has been alerted about the incident.
“Upon inquiry, I was informed that the Schools Division Office was made aware of these allegations of sexual harassment last week and that an investigation has already started and is currently underway,” Poa said.
The six teachers mentioned in the posts were not given any teaching load pending initial investigation of the matter.
“We will continue to coordinate with the SDO and the Regional Office concerned. We have zero-tolerance for any form of abuse in our schools,” Poa said.
