DEPED NCR SUSPENDS F2F CLASSES IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS ON OCTOBER 13–14
THE DEPARTMENT of Education–National Capital Region has announced the suspension of face-to-face classes in all public schools across Metro Manila on October 13 and 14, 2025.
DepEd said the suspension is due to the rising incidence of influenza-like illnesses among learners and personnel, as well as the recent series of earthquakes affecting various parts of the country.
During the suspension period, schools are directed to implement Alternative Delivery Modalities—either synchronous or asynchronous—as provided under DepEd Order No. 54, s. 2012, to ensure continued learning. All schools are also instructed to:
Conduct cleaning and disinfection of classrooms and common areas;
Carry out structural and safety inspections of school buildings and facilities;
Prepare for and facilitate earthquake and emergency preparedness drills; and
Reinforce health and safety practices among learners, personnel, and parents.
DepEd likewise encourages private schools in the region to adopt similar precautionary measures to safeguard the well-being of their school communities.
