THE UNITED States for Agency International Development supported the Education Department on the conduct of the workshop on the Development of National Rapid Mathematics Assessment Tools and Intervention Materials for Kinder to Grade 6.

ABC+: Advancing Basic Education of USAID and Department of Education share the common goal of improving the skills of Filipino children.

Some 77 regional, division education supervisors and Grades 1 to 3 Math teachers from Luzon participated in the workshop.

Yvette Malcioln, Deputy Director of the Office of Education at USAID, emphasized the need to concentrate efforts on developing tools that are adaptable and appropriate for meeting the particular educational requirements of children.

Additionally supported by UNICEF and the UP National Institute for Science and Mathematics Development, the three-day event came to an end on Friday.

USAID’s support to the activity is part of its commitment and support for DepEd’s National Math Program.
