DEPED MOURNS DEATH OF DR. MARIA VICTORIA CARPIO-BERNIDO
THE DEPARTMENT of Education mourned the passing of 2010 Ramon Magsaysay awardee and educator Dr. Maria Victoria Carpio-Bernido.
“We offer our sincere condolences to the Bernido family in this time of sorrow,” DepEd said.
It said that Dr. Carpio-Bernido will be remembered as a dedicated physicist-educator, a Ramon Magsaysay Award awardee for her innovative work in education through the Central Visayas Institute Foundation – Dynamic Learning Program, and a “committed champion of Philippine basic education.”
The DLP was used as one of DepEd’s supplemental learning resources aligned with the Most Essential Learning Competencies.
DepEd said that Carpio-Bernido was “invaluable” in ensuring learning continuity during the pandemic.
“Her passing is a major loss to Philippine education, and we are one with the education community in remembering her legacy,” the department said.
