DEPED, MICROSOFT TEAM UP FOR EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENTS
THE DEPARTMENT of Education and Microsoft have teamed up to promote technological advancements in education through generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for both students and educators.
This collaboration aims to introduce DepEd educators to the potential of AI in enhancing learning experiences, according to Microsoft.
Education Secretary Sonng Angara emphasized the department’s commitment to providing quality education through these technologies.
“We have a tremendous opportunity and responsibility to enhance the quality of education for every Filipino, and we are committed to that outcome, as part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s plan to bridge the digital divide. These programs with Microsoft have already delivered immediate, scalable results, and we will continue to integrate technologies and equip educators with the necessary skills to foster innovation in every classroom,” Angara said.
For Peter Maquera, CEO of Microsoft Philippines, AI is the “most transformational technology of our time, and it’s up to us to ensure that it serves everyone.
“We have the opportunity to break down barriers that have long impeded access—not only to better learning outcomes but also to a higher quality of life for all Filipinos. Together with Secretary Angara and the Department of Education, we aim to democratize access to AI, empower teachers to do what they do best, and prepare the next generation for the jobs of the future,” Maquera added.
