THE DEPARTMENT of Education reported 2.8 million enrollees on the first day of enrollment for School Year 2022-2023.

DepEd spokesperson Atty. Michael Tan Poa said that the number was higher than the previous year’s first day of enrollment.

“Maganda. Matagumpay ang ating unang araw ng enrollment kahapon. Maganda ang ating turnout. As of 7:35 p.m. last night, nasa 2.808 million ang nag-enroll sa ating mga learners,” Poa said.

“Mas maganda kaysa ito sa turnout, dahil last year around 200,000 lang ang nag-enroll sa first day,” he added.

About 28.6 million students are expected to enroll for the upcoming school year.
