DEPED: LEARNING MATERIALS SELF-INSTRUCTIONAL
THE DEPARTMENT of Education assured that learning materials for this school year will be ‘self-instructional’.
In a text message, Education Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio said parents need not worry that their children might not have access to quality education as the learning modules can be easily understood by the learners.
“Self-contained, self-instructional and self-paced ang modules,” San Antonio said in a text message to The POST.
To maintain quality education, San Antonio added that learning support aides may be employed to assist learners especially those whose parents can’t assist them with their lessons.
San Antonio said students and parents can easily communicate with the teachers regarding the lessons.
He added that the parents and learners can also keep in touch with the mentors via social media, as well as via text and phone calls for those who don’t have internet access.
Modular learning entails greater patience for the learners as they have to study their lessons on their own.
The Deped has introduced different new normal approaches to assure the continued education of the learners.
The department continues to provide learning materials in different areas as it braces for the opening of classes on August 24.
