“It is good to have partners who believe in the efforts of the Department to strengthen the capacity of teachers in improving their numeracy and literacy teaching skills. This event will surely equip them in developing the culture of reading and love for mathematics among our learners,” Education Secretary Leonor Briones said.
“This course is designed to provide teachers and school heads with an overview of Content Integrated Language Learning, Early Literacy, and Bilingual Education. They can also learn specific strategies and tasks which can be implemented in the classroom and community to improve K-3 students’ literacy skills,” Undersecretary for Curriculum and Instruction Diosdado San Antonio said.
The program aims to equip the teachers and school heads with necessary skills to apply innovative strategies and techniques to developmentally appropriate literacy lessons which will motivate K-3 students and develop their skills.
“Through this webinar, participants are also expected to contribute and support the school community and all stakeholders involved in the education of young learners,” San Antonio added.
