DEPED HOLDS CONSULTATIONS WITH STAKEHOLDERS

/ 21 January 2025

THE DEPARTMENT of Education continues to hold consultations with stakeholders, private sector representatives, and industry partners to ensure that students are prepared for the future.

According to DepEd, the dialogues involved 31 private schools and technical vocational institutions, as well as 14 companies and organizations from various regions.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara emphasized the need to make high school graduates “employable.”

“We have to make our high school graduates employable, and they need to enter quality jobs—not just jobs that will barely provide a living wage or enable them to feed their families, but jobs that will allow them to live a quality life,” he said.

The DepEd Chief assured that the consultations would be an ongoing collaboration to further improve education policies and curriculum.

“As I promised, DepEd’s conversations with TESDA, industry leaders, and private institutions will be a continuous process. It will never stop because industries are always evolving and changing. We need to evolve with them,” Angara stated.

He also called on stakeholders and partners to continue their support.
